*Pewter itself is a tough, but easily fusible silver-gray alloy. Original consisting of tin with a little lead, but later modified by the addition of copper, antimony, or bismuth. Pewter ware containing a large amount of lead is considered inferior, Pewter ware contains large selection in which one can choose, from tableware such as dishes, beer mugs, and pots to souvenir products.
**Pewter** (also known as “antique silver”) is a metal alloy, traditionally between 85 and 96 percent tin, and the rest copper and/or lead.
There were three grades of pewter:
Fine, for eating ware, with 96 percent tin, and 4 percent copper
Trifle, also for eating and drinking utensils but duller in appearance, with essentially 92 percent tin, 4 percent copper, and up to 4 percent lead
Lay or Ley metal, not for eating or drinking utensils, which could contain up to 15 percent lead.

with 97 percent tin, 2 percent antimony and 1 percent copper

Instructions
1. Prepare the mixture by adding a pinch of salt to 1 cup of white vinegar.
2. Next, add flour the the salt and vinegar mixture until a paste forms.
3. Cover your pewter in the vinegar, salt, and flour paste and let stand for 15 minutes.
4. Rinse the pewter with warm water and dry with a soft cloth.
